The Social Multicenter of ADEDY (Supreme Administration of the Greek Civil
Servants Trade Unions) was established in December 2004 with the main objective
of the scientific support of ADEDY's manifold actions.
The aims of the Social Multi-center are:
The systematic study, research and documentation in the fields of the Public
Administration and the Social Services of the State. The systematic promotion
of education and training among the trade union leaders for the support and
strengthening of the civil servants' movement in Greece. The promotion of
ethics of collectiveness and unionism through continuous exchange of ideas and
open dialogue. The contribution for the development of the workforce of the
Public Administration.
Fields of Action
For the accomplishment of its various objectives, the Social Multi-center
initiates new fields of action, signs up schedule agreements and organises
projects of training and research in a broad range of issues.
Education & Training
Target - actions for the development of Public Administration's
workforce: - In November of 2004 the Social Multicenter signs up the
schedule agreement between the Ministry of Interiors, Public
Administration and Local Government - ADEDY – and The National Center of Public
Administration and Local Government. Since then, the Social Multi-center
originated and participated in several actions of lifelong learning and training
addressed to employees of the public sector. - In April of 2005
initiates and accomplishes the schedule agreement with the National Center of
Public Administration and Local Government and the University of Peloponnesus
and introduces the first Masters course for Public Servants with the title
“Administration of Public Services and Organisations”. - In March 2007 a second
schedule agreement with the University of Macedonia introduces the second
Masters course for public servants with the title “Total Quality
Management”.
Research & Documentation
In order to achieve its objectives of education and training and to
systematise the observation, analysis and recording of the qualitative and
quantitative data of Public Administration and the Social Functions of the
State, Social Multicenter gives priority to the following research areas:
Research to identify and analyse the characteristics
of the current trends in the fields of Public Administration and the Social
Functions of the State as well as the inequalities of access in public
goods.
The formulation of longitudinal and cross-sectional
indicators for the monitoring of the characteristics of the workforce in the
public administration.
The systematic observation and recording of the
educational and training facts of the workforce of the Public Administration.
The development of the necessary documentation
structures to facilitate the direct collection and diffusion of knowledge and
information to all stakeholders (Trade unions, Administrative and Political
organizations, Academic community).
The
build-up of systematic and efficient partnerships with the institutions active
in the fields of research and education of the workforce of the Public
Administration.
